Article Abstract:

The drug leuprolide acetate does not appear to be effective in women with endometriosis of the rectovaginal septum, according to a study of 15 women. Endometriosis occurs when tissue from inside the uterus ends up outside the uterus.

Long-term follow-up conservative surgery for rectovaginal endometriosis

Article Abstract:

The long term results in a series of patients who received surgical treatment for rectovaginal endometriosis is evaluated, and the most relevant factors that are associated with the successful outcome from therapeutic approach are identified. It is found that segmental resection and anastomosis of the bowel, when necessary, improves the outcome without affecting chances of conception.

Is rectovaginal endometriosis a progressive disease?

Article Abstract:

The natural history of untreated asymptomatic rectovaginal endometriosis is reported in a study. Medium- and long-term follow-up observations indicate that the progression of the disease and appearance of specific symptoms occur in less than 10% of patients with asymptomatic rectovaginal endometriosis.
