Article Abstract:
Clinicians and researchers stated that cord blood has proved to be a viable alternative to bone marrow as a source of these life saving cells to treat a variety of diseases. Hematopoitic stem cells from cord blood offer some advantages over cells from bone marrow where a usable cord blood unit can be identified within 4 weeks or less.
