Hospitals return to reusable products

Article Abstract:

The high financial and environmental cost of disposable hospital materials may lead administrators to bring back the use of reusable equipment. Administrators now recognize that hiring a laundry service to clean and sterilize linens is cheaper than disposing waste. However, safety and health concerns may hinder the comeback of reusables. Other experts disagree with the notion that disposable items minimize the spread of infection. Since the move towards returning to reusables will affect the entire hospital staff, everyone must take part in discussing the step before implementation.

When disaster strikes

Article Abstract:

Traumatic incidents involving death in the workplace can have a negative impact on the surviving employees' productivity and psychological state of mind. The best way for corporations to handle these situations is to create an in-house group to help workers recover from post-traumatic stress. Managers who are used to dealing with employees in an offhand manner should learn to cultivate a closer relationship with workers to improve employee morale. This is expected to lessen the possibilities of severe and lengthy post-traumatic stress.
