Human fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 is a co-receptor for infection by adeno-associated virus 2 Qing, Keyun Mah, Cathryn Hansen, Jonathan Zhou, Shangzhen Dwarki, Varavani Srivastava, Arun
Article Abstract:
The authors researched the mechanics underlying the usefulness of adeno-associated virus vectors for gene therapy. They report that there are additional factors, such as human fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 necessary for the viral vector to enter the cell, which may allow improved use of the viral vectors.

AlphaV Beta5 integrin: a co-receptor for adeno-associated virus type 2 infection Summerford, Candace Bartlett, Jeffrey S. Samulski, Richard Jude
Article Abstract:
The authors researched the steps involved in viral entry into cells, with implications for both prevention of viral infection and use of viral vectors for gene therapy delivery. They report that the sunbstance AlphaV Beta5 integrin is an essential factor in this process.
