India's polio exports undermine global eradication push

Article Abstract:

Uttar Pradesh in India is facing severe polio outbreak and India is struggling to keep polio under control by making efforts to clear Uttar Pradesh of polio. It was felt that the alarming number of children infected by polio in India is high due to microbes present in the gut of Indian children and frequent diarrhea that made children to expel some of the polio vaccine.

Long-delayed report on Bhopal disaster offers little new information

Article Abstract:

Indian scientists have released a report on the gas leak in Bhopal, a decade after the studies, and nearly 20 years after the disaster. However, Samavedan Sriramachari, one of the investigators, states that it is high time that the government and other agencies undertook the responsibility of clearing the wastes, instead of getting caught in legal disputes.

Plagiarized report on patent laws shames Indian scientists

Article Abstract:

This article discusses how Raghunath Mashelkar, a renowned Indian scientist, admitted that he had plagiarized parts of a government committee report regarding a dispute on India's patent law. Mashelkar's report used parts of script from a study done by Intellectual Property Institute in the U.K.
