Is the US draining the UK of nurses?

Article Abstract:

The UK workforce shows an increase in it numbers of registered nursing staff. Statistics show that the numbers of nurses leaving for the UK for life in North America has doubled as compared to 2002 where verification checks of UK nurses requested by US employers has increased from 1,089 in 2001-2002 to 2,224 in 2002-2003.
