There's still a chance to get in touch with local concerns
Article Abstract:
Physicians and legislators should take time before the health care reform plan is introduced to investigate the health care system in their local area. Then, when reform is debated, these people will have their opinions grounded in their own observations. They will have a realistic view of health care problems that need to be addressed. Perhaps this will make them a bit more sincere and less inclined to politicking when the reform plan is introduced to Congress.

What managed care can't seem to manage is efficiency
Article Abstract:
Managed care systems intervene between a physician and a patient with the purpose of lowering costs and providing medical services efficiently. However, costs are staying the same under managed care, and the same services are delivered under managed care that are provided when only a doctor makes the decision on needed services. Managed systems make health care delivery less efficient because of delays. Examples using actual patient cases are outlined.
