Itchy feet
Article Abstract:
Nurses considering working abroad should start to plan the move a year in advance and should carefully consider where they can go, what they can do and why they want to go. Leaving behind personal problems is not a good reason. Nurses need to think about the culture they are going to join and it is preferable to have some friends already there. Differing attitudes towards women can make life difficult in some countries. Nurses need to make sure they have a contract of employment, they have to be flexible, respect different customs and do research about the country in advance.
