Kids' stuff
Article Abstract:
The Ravensbourne National Health Service Trust Community Children's Nursing Team was started in the United Kingdom during 1994 in response to a need for nursing care for sick children in the community. The team, which consists of six nurses with a wide experience of paediatric nursing, visits children with a variety of medical conditions in their own homes. They provide a 24-hour service and prefer to receive information concerning a sick child before discharge from hospital. For the future they hope to increase awareness of their services and instigate support groups amongst parents.

A morale victory
Article Abstract:
Nurse Sue Hancock enjoys her work as manager of an assessment ward for the elderly mentally ill. The work requires a range of nursing skills, and nurses need to spend a lot of time with patients getting to know their needs and backgrounds. Patients spend an average of three weeks on the ward, but if the patient needs to move to some other form of care the stay could be longer to accommodate a search for the most appropriate placement. Hancock places strong emphasis on professional development for her staff, and she is highly respected for her leadership skills.

The rise of Viagra: The old adage 'sex sells' has never seem so apt. Never since the Pill has a drug made such an impact on the world stage, yet serious concerns surround the introduction and use of Viagra
Article Abstract:
Viagra is the first effective oral treatment for erectile dysfunction and it has been heralded as the new 'sex pill'. Erectile dysfunction is relatively common, but few men seek treatment. Viagra is likely to be legally available in the UK soon and there are concerns that requests for it will overwhelm the NHS. It is only to be prescribed where there are sound clinical reasons and guidelines are being drawn up to help GPs accurately diagnose erectile dysfunction.
