Learning from past complaints to improve the care of patients

Article Abstract:

A general outline of the NHS complaints procedure, the role of nurses in the management of complaints and the lessons learnt form complaints received by the Healthcare Commission are described. Raising the awareness of the concerns frequently raised in complaints would help the nurses in preparing better for handling complaints and to use them and the complaints process to drive changes and improvements in patient care.

Are nurse picking up doctors' unwanted tasks?

Article Abstract:

One author argues that the only duties being passed to nurses by doctors in the United Kingdom are boring and unfulfilling, while the other author argues that these new tasks are fulfilling, expand the nurses role and improve patient care.
