Consumer response to health foods in fast-food restaurants was not positive. Many eateries have discontinued their menu items and opted for different ways to market more of their popular fat-lade, salt-laden, calorie-laden food. Some take-out places continue to offer options to customers who watch their fat intake. Subway, Taco Bell, and even Kentucky Fried Chicken offer alternative foods that are a slight improvement over standard hamburger places.

Fast food need not be fattening and unhealthy if it is chosen carefully. A quiz tests knowledge of fast food and reveals that the regular size hamburgers have less fat than the fish fillet sandwiches and frozen low-fat yogurt has less calories than a six inch pretzel.
