Management of leg ulcers
Article Abstract:
Leg ulcer patients with an ankle brachial pressure index (ABPI) lower than 0.8 should receive routine vascular opinion, while those with an ABPI of under 0.5 will need an urgent referral. Patients with a venous ulcer and an ABPI of 0.8 or more should receive compression therapy.

Preventing venous leg ulcer recurrence
Article Abstract:
Compression hosiery plays a key role in preventing the recurrence of venous leg ulcers. It is vital that the patient is accurately measured for the hosiery, thus allowing bandages to be applied properly.
