Medicare pay raise OKEd, but deal hinges on non-Medicare issues
Article Abstract:
A deal to replace the 4.4% cut in Medicare payments to physicians is expected to come into effect by March 2003, with a 1.6% increase. House and Senate lawmakers agreed to include the physician payment fix in the final version of the bill and are trying reach a massive spending package agreement to fund the federal government through the end of the fiscal year 2003.
