New year, new Labour, new law

Article Abstract:

Ministers are to act on the 1996 Law Commission recommendation removing legal problems, that nullify the existing offence of corporate manslaughter. New legislation will attempt to make organisations liable to charges of corporate killing. Issues include how the law will address matters arising from official inquiries into disasters, whether it will emphasize the roles of board members in safety management and if corporate killing charges can be brought against more than one organization.
