Effect of coexisting HIV-1 infection on the diagnosis and evaluation of hepatitis C virus
Article Abstract:
The ELISA test for hepatitis C virus appears to be more accurate in HIV-infected patients than in patients who are not infected with HIV. This probably occurs because HIV-infected patients are less likely to clear the hepatitis C infection than an HIV-negative person.

Analyses of nursing home residents with HIV and dementia using the Minimum Data Set
Article Abstract:
Nursing home patients who have HIV infection and dementia are more likely than other HIV patients to have other health problems as well. These health problems included anemia, hepatitis, kidney failure, cancer, depression, schizophrenia, and memory disorders.
