Nursing teams are floundering because they lack supervision and direction

Article Abstract:

Nursing has advanced or is being manipulated by the medical profession and policymakers are argued. It is evident that there is no true role expansion but only changes at the margins of professional boundaries and nurses have failed to retain control of essential care because of lack of supervision and direction and more medical roles taken by them.

Article Abstract:

Nurse prescribing was launched with much excitement, and the scope of the current nurses' formulary may be expanded. The move seems to offer nurses only positive benefits, but it will lead to significant changes in the traditional role of the registered nurse. The move to prescribing has helped to overcome the problems of obtaining a prescription in the community, but significant advances need to be made if prescribing from any part of the British National Formulary is to become a reality.
