Article Abstract:

Many service developments, after realizing that old health and ill health are not the same, have focused on avoiding unnecessary admission to hospital or facilitating earlier discharge by providing care and support in older peopleEs old homes. Victoria Griffin, a staff nurse at Middlesex Hospital, London, enjoys working with older people and appreciates of being in unit specializing in meeting their needs.

Challenging ageist attitude

Article Abstract:

The needs and rights of older patients is looked after by champions who have undergone special training and they use this knowledge to root out ageism and optimize the services provided in the wards. To persuade the trained staff that they have to learn something is the challenge that the champions faced.

Strategies to enhance privacy and dignity in care of older people
