"One mighty database from cradle to grave gives me the creeps"

Article Abstract:

A critical discussion on the National Program for IT and its related technical problems is presented. Although the role of IT is taking center stage within the NHS, its efficacies are questioned. It is argued that with such a mighty health and social care database used from cradle to grave, ninety percent of a patient's appointment would be spent in reading all the collated data in case something clinically relevant is missed.
