Operationalizing a Conceptually Based Noncategorical Definition

Article Abstract:

Chronic illness in children can be defined by functional impairments and the use of medical services, rather than a description of symptoms and diagnoses. The Questionnaire for Identifying Children with Chronic Conditions (QuICCC) evaluates children's health in three broad categories: functional limitations, dependence on assist devices, and the use of medical services. A child who has difficulty dressing or walking, uses medications or crutches regularly, or makes frequent doctor visits may be considered to have a chronic condition.

Faking it

Article Abstract:

Some facts are provided on whether fake sweeteners are a good way to keep weight-loss goals in check or whether they are a health risk and perhaps a danger to the diet. A theory suggests that sweeteners, notably aspartame, can block a nerve chemical in the brain that controls cravings, and also cause cancer concerns.
