Out of breath, into rehab

Article Abstract:

Rehabilitation programmes for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can help to reduce disability, improve their ability to cope and prevent deterioration. The programmes are usually carried out in out-patients, last between six to 12 weeks, and take place twice per week with groups of about six to eight patients. Candidates have to know what is expected and nurses have to make pulmonary measurements to assess how severe the disease is. Patients who do not have cardiac stability should not be put on a rehabilitation programme.

Getting to yes

Article Abstract:

United Nations chief arms inspector, Richard Butler, and author G. Richard Shell discuss the art of negotiation in political, business, and family settings. Butler points out that in political negotiating, it is sometimes effective to use controlled anger when a proposal is unacceptable. Shell counters that in business, it is often effective to change the tone or direction of a negotiation when it is not going well.

Whence the beef?

Article Abstract:

The history of hamburgers is a checkered one in that the exact origin is a question of dispute. In this day and age, the birthplace of the hamburger is not as important as safety issues of beef and quality meat. Five hamburger recipes are included.
