Out of sites, out of mind?

Article Abstract:

World Wide Web sites now tackle job-related concerns of women. The Office of Women's Health, which can be logged on at www.cdc.gov/od/owh, deals with specific safety concerns of women at work such as reproductive health and breast cancer. "Women: Work and Health" at www.cdc.gov/nchswww is a 100-page government study that includes national data on injuries, fatalities, and health of women at work. Web site ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~weiss/WorkSD.html is for the Assault Prevention Information Network which presents articles and links to self-defense organizations.

Get with the program: fight the violence

Article Abstract:

There are several Web sites that offer information on how companies can develop and enhance violence prevention programs. These sites feature tips for designing a violence prevention program. They also discuss risk factors associated with fatal and nonfatal assaults and different prevention strategies. In addition, the Web sites explain how to conduct training, establish written policy statements, and establish a management response team.

Genetic liability?

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning genetic testing by employers in order to find out employees' predisposition to injury are discussed. Particular attention is given to legal aspects of the genetic testing of employees. Positive and negative aspects of genetic testing at work are highlighted.
