The three degrees

Article Abstract:

Nurses in the UK must now undertake at least five days' study activity, or its equivalent, every five years in order to remain registered and fit to practise. Many nurses go beyond the basic requirements for postregistration training, and one in 10 nurses now has a degree. Many practising Enrolled Nurses are taking conversion courses leading to first-level registration. The accreditation of prior learning and credit accumulation transfer points schemes take account of a nurse's previous experience. National Health Service trusts and universities are beginning to collaborate for nurse training.
