Physician reimbursement rates under Medicare are likely to decrease in 1997, according to reports on volume targets and fee updates. The Clinton administration is recommending an immediate move to a single conversion factor for physician reimbursement rates while the Physician Payment Review Commission recommends a gradual move toward a single conversion factor over a three-year period.
