Performing a comprehensive physiological assessment

Article Abstract:

Studies identified that practitioners lacked the skills and knowledge required to perform a comprehensive physiological assessment, to the detriment of patients. Thus, two methods are suggested for a comprehensive approach to observations, describing best practice techniques to improve reliability and consistency, also explaining why these observations are so important for monitoring patients in an acute setting.

Objective structured clinical examination assessment

Article Abstract:

A study assessed the students' response to the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) done in camera and later reviewed. Evaluation results showed that it was well accepted by both students and assessors and much scope remained for further improvement.
