Article Abstract:

Hospitals often lose financially by buying out physican practices; they frequently pay doctors much more than they could earn in private prctice. In addition, physicians lose their patient bases, and thus some of their value in the healthcare system. In addition, the physician sacrifices flexibility and autonomy.
