The provisions of the National Service Framework for Older People are discussed. The eight national standards have been devised to improve healthcare for the aged particularly in relation to mental health, falls and strokes.

Article Abstract:
The use of antipsychotic drugs to help with dementia is discussed with reference to the elderly. The side-effects of these drugs are similar to the effects of aging and guidance on their use is presented.
