Remodeling of cortical bone allografts mediated by adherent rAAV-RANKL and VEGF gene therapy
Article Abstract:
A mouse model is developed to recapitulate the clinical aspects of live autograft and processed allograft healing. The results show that both receptor activator of nuclear factor kappaB ligand (RANKL) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) are necessary and sufficient for efficient autograft remodeling and could be transferred using recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) to revitalize structural allografts.

Induction of leptin resistance through direct interaction of C-reactive protein with leptin
Article Abstract:
The presence in human blood of several serum leptin-interacting proteins (SLIPs) isolated by leptin-affinity chromatography and identified by mass spectrometry and immunochemical analysis is reported. It was found that physiological concentrations of leptin could stimulate expressions of CRP in human primary hepatocytes.
