Article Abstract:

Viral vectors and whole viruses offer some possibility of being used in conjunction with current treatments for cancer. Viral therapies require unique safety and regulatory issues yet include advantages such as no cross-resistance and the ability to destroy tumors with numerous mechanisms.

Biological drug duo delivers one-two tumor punch

Interleukin (IL)-2 has become the only established immunotherapy approved by the US food and Drug Administration for the treatment of refractory melanoma and renal cancer. The results IL-2 are obtained and the causes associated with it are examined.
