Resuscitation can be emotionally confusing for staff

Article Abstract:

The entire idea of resuscitation, of dragging a person back from the threshold of death, seemed to be wrong and was also emotionally very confusing for a nurse. Initially horrified at the 'intrusive' procedure, she instinctively provided resuscitation to an elderly man when she faced such a situation, as her life-saving nursing profession overtook her personal thoughts.

The author puts forth her views and possible reasons for the low self-esteem among nurses. She further states that it is emotionally stressful occupation but the patients are reasons that keep nurses going back to work day after day.
