Review emerging trends regarding catheter placement and usage

Article Abstract:

Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs) are a good alternative for monitoring central venous pressure leading to lower risk of complications associated with catheterization and dwell. Magnetic tip location systems are developed that make use of electromagnetic energy to verify that the catheter tip is placed at least at the proper PICC placement.
