Prevention of meningococcal disease
Article Abstract:
A case study of a previously healthy 19-year-old college freshman, who was presented to an emergency department with acute onset of fever and headache and died 12 hours after the onset of symptoms of meningococcal septicemia, is presented. Preventive measures that can be undertaken against meninigococcal septicemia are outlined.
