Changing to a low fat diet: attitudes and beliefs of UK consumers

Article Abstract:

The attitudes and beliefs of UK consumers regarding low fat diet are assessed using a questionaire. Results indicate that majority of responders showed positive attitudes about the benefits of reducing fat intake and they perceived success in instituting dietary changes. Such behavioral changes do not confrom to the real picture showing constant fat intake in the UK. Thus, an important obstacle in the drive to minimize fat intake in the UK is the populace's inability to recognize the principles of effective dietary change.
