Nurses have worked at disaster scenes including the Jacksonville Yellow Fever epidemics of 1888, the Johnstown flood of 1889, the Galveston Hurricane of 1900, the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, the influenza pandemic of1918-1919, the Tulsa race riot of 1921, the Cocanut Grove fire of 1942 and the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995.
