Should nurses be role models for health?

Article Abstract:

Susie Dunkley, bank district nurse in Bristol, debates with Marissa Ward, mental health nurse in Nottingham, on whether the nurses should be role models for health in order to promote it. Dunkley feels that people look at nurses for support and guidance and are hence best suited as role models for health. Ward believes that promoting nurses as role models will reinforce the huge inequalities of power in health care.
