Should under-16s have contraceptive implants?
Article Abstract:
Sue Ward, nurse specialist in family planning at South Downs Health NHS Trust and Mandy Long, community bank nurse at Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust have a brief debate on whether women under-16 should undergo contraceptive implants. Sue Ward supports the issue as the use of contraceptive would prevent trauma of unintended pregnancy, while Mandy Long looks at the social point of view and suggests that not promoting contraceptive implants might discourage young people from engaging in premature sex.
