Social cost of maternal deaths
Article Abstract:
The social costs of maternal mortality should be managed or absorbed to prevent a decline in the quality of life, health, livelihoods and development potentials of Thailand. These costs fall most harshly on the traditional role of women as mothers and on the children being cared for.

Pregnancy and malaria
Article Abstract:
Malaria may only be one among several factors that increase the risk of death or sickness in pregnant women. However, malaria in pregnant women becomes serious when associated with anemia, particularly when their immunity to malaria is low.
