Specialist vs generalist

Article Abstract:

Specialist nurses are in a vulnerable position and at a top end of the pay scale, they could be seen as easy targets for trusts desperate to make the book balance. Some specialist nurses facing redundancy are also being forced back into more general roles and in some cases downgraded to working in their trusts as the real answer to this debate lies in ensuring that generalists and specialists work together and thus team can deliver care to the patients with a holistic approach.
