Streptococcus mutans survives without important biochemical pathway

Researchers from University of Florida, Gainesville, discovered that bacteria namely streptococcus mutans, can survive with growth, without signal recognition pathway (SRT). SRT is primary mechanism by which proteins are delivered to cell membranes for survival.

Research on rural residents with oral pain, conducted at the University of Florida, indicates that, ruralites are as likely as their urban counterparts to inform about the pain, and will seek treatment only after the conditions becomes severe.
