The Coalescence of Technology and Humanism in Nursing Practice: It Doesn't Just Happen and It Doesn't Come Easily
Article Abstract:
Nurses can play a pivotal role in integrating medical technology and ethical values. They are able to evaluate new practices and processes and their impact on patient outcomes and quality of life. Nurses also provide an important communication link between the community and medical professionals, and can encourage public and patient participation in forming ethical standards. This can prevent technology from becoming the focus of health care administration at the expense of the patient.
