NICE guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) published the new guidelines on February 2005 for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. The guidelines offer best practice advice on the care of adults who are suspected of having or are diagnosed with lung cancer.

Cancer Research UK in the year 2004 reported 38,410 new cases accounting for 14 percent of all cancers diagnosed in the year 2000. The causes, signs and symptoms and the developments in diagnostic techniques and treatments available to patients are discussed.
