The effect of birth weight on vaginal birth after cesarean delivery success rates

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the role of birth weight in labor of women with one previous cesarean delivery. The authors have evaluated the relationship between neonatal birth rates and vaginal birth after cesarean delivery success, and have examined the hypothesis that increasing birth weight decreases vaginal birth after cesarean delivery success.

The author reports that many surgeons use surgical techniques because of the way they have been trained during their residency or because curtain techniques have worked for them for years. The author insists that surgeons should review their practices and determine whether their surgical dogma is outdated.
