Article Abstract:

Wendy Gardener and Sheila O'Brien were honored with an award for their extraordinary work of counseling young couples and mothers and offering antenatal health promotion to them. They set up 'Promoting Health in your Community', a practice-based antenatal health promotion clinic which got outstanding results of 50% mothers-to-be considering breastfeeding than just 6% in late 2005.

Helping patients to help themselves

Article Abstract:

Nurses have educated adults, children and carers to administer cytotoxic injections at home and hence adults with rheumatoid arthritis are freed from going weekly to the hospital. This self-treatment scheme has won the Leeds team the ePatients in FocusE award from the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.
