The orphan nuclear receptor HNF4alpha determines PXR- and CAR-mediated xenobiotic induction of CYP3A4

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that the hepatocyte nuclear factor-4alpha regulates coordinate nuclear-receptor-mediated response to xenobiotics and that it is involved in the PXR- and CAR-mediated gene activation, which in turn regulate the cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) expression, a drug metabolizing enzyme.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-delta attenuates colon carcinogenesis

Article Abstract:

The contribution of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor--delta (PPAR-delta) is unclear in colon cancer and is expressed at high level in colon tumors. It is shown that colon carcinogenesis is attenuated through PPAR-delta.

Activation of nuclear hormone receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-delta accelerates intestinal adenoma growth

Article Abstract:

Results of a study provide the first evidence that Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-delta (PPAR-delta) activation promotes the growth of intestinal adenomas. Effects on polyp size and other factors are discussed.
