Transfer time?
Article Abstract:
Attaching pre-registration house officers to nursing teams rather than consultants would improve patient care and ward efficiency. Greater continuity of care would result. A more cooperative working relationship could develop between doctors and nurses. Communication between them would also improve. A doctor would be immediately available to carry out medical functions on all patients. Such a scheme would make greater cost-effective use of a junior doctor's time.
