Trauma centers and trauma systems
Article Abstract:
The presence of effective trauma centers in the US may be responsible for the fact that the US homicide rate is about three times lower than it should be based on the increase in personal assaults and other violent crimes since 1931. According to a study published in 2003, the number of US trauma centers increased from 471 in 1991 to 1,154 in 2002. Unfortunately, 15 states do not have a trauma system and there is a large disparity in the geographical distribution of trauma centers.

This is the first time this fungus has been reported in Utah. It lives in soil and can be inhaled when the soil is disturbed.
