Tread safely: get a grip on slips, trips, and falls

Article Abstract:

Slip-and-fall accidents account for a large number of the total nonfatal injuries in the workplace, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The same types of accidents also cost insurers an average $6,500 in claims costs. The US National Safety Council has published a few guidelines to lessen the incidence of accidents by focussing on factors, such as floor surfaces, slip hazard identification, footwear or tread design, and proper lighting in hazardous areas.
