Treating sleep apnea: Fine tuning CPAP
Article Abstract:
A continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device, a mask that is worn while sleeping to help keep the airways from collapsing is used to treat obstructive sleep apnea which is most common in middle-aged and older adults. To make optimal use of the device, some fine tuning is necessary such as buying a proper model and size to fit individual needs, using a device with a heated humidifier and knowing how to adjust the humidity setting, practicing wearing the mask a number of times initially for short periods so that one gets used to it.
