Article Abstract:
Scientists are struggling to define the depleting regulatory T cells (Tregs), which play a vital role in autoimmune diseases and cause severe wasting disease, massive inflammation and death. A trial in Germany is evaluating natural Tregs, which are produced in the thymus, and another in Italy is testing the adaptive Tregs, which are developed by conversion of normal T cells.
