URBAN FOOD MYTHS
Article Abstract:
There are many myths about foods that mislead people into believing they are healthy or unhealthy to eat. Chinese food may leave people feeling hungry but only because it lacks enough protein to give a satiated feeling. Another example is the confusion over bacteria in steak and hamburger. Bacteria is killed when a steak is cooked because the meat has not been processed. Hamburger must be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees. Other myths vs. facts are analyzed.
