"Wearing veils hinders communication and can jeopardize patient care"

Article Abstract:

Opinion is expressed on the issue of wearing of veils by nurses, which was banned by the Birmingham National Health Services Trust as it breaches the duty to take care of the patient. It is felt that covering the face will impede communication, hinder face and lip-reading since nurses need to be free to use all the nonverbal cues that are vital for patients' care.

Green tax new threat to mileage rates

Article Abstract:

The impact of the implementation of the green tax on business mileage allowance by the government on the community nurses is discussed. The government, in order to minimize the use of cars in the state, has also decided to lower the Approved Mileage Allowance Payments (AMAP).
